Kisi Smartlocks - How to Open a Door

Using a tap card / ID badge

  1. Tap your card / badge to the Kisi reader to unlock the door

Using the Kisi Mobile App

Login

  1. Download the Kisi app from the App Store or Google Play Store.
  2. Open the app and allow requested permissions
  3. Tap “Add Account”
  4. Enter your LVUSD email address and tap “Continue”
  5. Check your LVUSD email from your phone for the Kisi Sign In link and click on the link
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish setting up your account

Unlocking the door

Tapping the reader (NFC)

  1. If your phone supports NFC, you can simply tap your phone on the Kisi reader to unlock the door

In-app button

  1. Open the Kisi App
  2. Login if necessary
  3. Tap the button for the door you want to unlock

Using the Kisi Website

Login

  1. Go to https://web.kisi.io
  2. For “Organization Domain” enter “lvusd” and press “Continue”
  3. Press “SSO Sign In” (sign-in with your LVUSD Gmail account if prompted)

Unlocking the door

  1. In the “Quick Access” section, click the unlock button to the right of the door you want to unlock

Unlocking the door for visitors (Office staff only)

  1. Visitor presses the intercom button by the door
  2. Configured office phones will ring
    • Clicking the green button will answer the call and allow the staff member to communicate with the visitor through the intercom
    • Clicking the grey button will unlock the door for 5 seconds

Kisi Credentials - For those assigning cards to students/staff

Assign Credential to User

  1. Go to https://web.kisi.io
  2. For “Organization Domain” enter “lvusd” and press “Continue”

  3. Press “SSO Sign In” (sign-in with your LVUSD Gmail account if prompted)

  4. Select the “Las Virgenes Unified School District” location
  5. Navigate to the “Credentials” page
  6. Click “Add Credential”
  7. Choose “Single Credential”

  8. Navigate to the “At Reader” tab
  9. Under “Search place” choose the school
  10. Under “Search Door” choose the Reader location
  11. Under “Search Reader” choose the Reader being used
  12. Make sure “Credential Type” is set to “High Frequency (NFC)”

  13. Hold the card to the specified Reader to scan it in
  14. Under “Assign to user” search for the user by email address and select them
    1. Click “Assign” to assign the credential to the user > Click Activate to enable the card
    2. Click “Assign & Scan Another” to add more credentials > Repeat the scan & assign process for each additional card, then Activate Credential

Activate Credential

  1. Navigate to the “Credentials” page

  2. Select the credential to activate
  3. Click “Activate”
