Troubleshooting Procedure

If the device is student-owned, any Out Of Warranty part replacements must be approved by the parent first

Perform the following steps in order, if possible. After each step, check if the issue has been resolved. Only send to the District Office if these steps don’t resolve the issue.

  1. Scan device Serial Number into UMC2
  2. Check for existing open ticket
  3. Open New Ticket if necessary, providing any issue details
  4. Check Warranty Status
  5. Check the updater icon on the Ubermix taskbar, on the right
  6. Check BIOS settings and Ubermix version
    1. Perform BIOS update and/or Ubermix upgrade if out-of-date
    2. Perform Factory Reset if current
  7. Check for missing and loose screws, and replace or tighten as needed
  8. Check hardware connections/connectors
  9. Replace parts if necessary
    1. If device is student-owned and Out Of Warranty, check if new part will fix the issue prior to requesting approval. If repair is not approved, leave the old part in and return device to student.

Determining Repair Cost

  • Part costs are listed under Tools in UMC2
  • Additional parts are listed on the Full List, accessible via the button at the bottom-left of the Part Costs list
  • All Out of Warranty repairs are considered chargeable (excluding usual wear & tear, including Physical breaks and Liquid spills (Please see Warranty Info above to see details)
