Printers

Known Issues:

Releasing print jobs sometimes doesn’t initiate a print. This is being investigated by Sharp & Papercut. We appreciate your patience while we work on resolving these issues.

Installing Managed Printers

NOTE:

Most users will already have this client installed through our automated device management solutions. Only perform this install if you do not already have the Papercut Print Deploy Client installed.

  1. Download the Papercut Print Deploy Client for your operating system: Windows / macOS
  2. Run the install file and follow the prompts, selecting Allow if/when prompted
  3. Close the installer once complete
  4. In the taskbar (top on macOS, bottom on Windows) find the green Print Deploy Client icon

  5. Select ‘View my printers’
  6. At the sign-in window, select ‘Sign in with Google’
    1. Chrome browser should open automatically to an account selection screen
    2. Choose your LVUSD google account from the list, then press ‘Continue’

  7. Printers assigned to you should automatically install

  8. If you have optional printers available to you, they will be listed in ‘Add printers’

Papercut Interface

Releasing Print Jobs

  1. Login to copier using your username/password or Papercut ID, then press ‘Continue’
  2. Press ‘Print Release’
    1. To print all queues jobs, press ‘Print All’ in the top-right
    2. To print select jobs, press each job to select it, then press ‘Print’

Sharp Interface

Copying

  1. Login to copier using your username/password or Papercut ID, then press ‘Continue’
  2. Press ‘Access Device’, then again to confirm
  3. Press ‘Copy’
  4. Change the copy settings to your desired specifications, then press either ‘B/W Start’ or ‘Color Start’

Scanning

  1. Login to copier using your username/password or Papercut ID, then press ‘Continue’
  2. Press ‘Access Device’, then again to confirm
  3. Press ‘E-Mail’
  4. Change the scan settings to your desired specifications, then press ‘Start’

Printing from a USB drive

  1. Login to copier using your username/password or Papercut ID, then press ‘Continue’
  2. Press ‘Access Device’, then again to confirm
  3. Plug in your USB drive and wait a moment
  4. Press ‘Print from external memory device (USB)’
  5. Select the file to print from your USB, then press ‘Choose Print Settings’
  6. Change the print settings to your desired specification, then press ‘Start’

Troubleshooting

Scan sends in multiple chunks

Enable ‘Compact PDF’ option in scan settings:

  1. Select ‘File Format’ in the left-hand toolbar
  2. Tap the box next to ‘Compact’
  3. Tap the blue ‘OK’ box in the upper-right
  4. Proceed to scan

Print jobs don’t send

  1. Click on the Print Deploy Client icon in your taskbar
  2. Click “Refresh printers”
  3. Wait a moment, then try printing again
  4. If issue persists, follow instructions below:
macOS
  1. Open System Settings / Preferences
  2. Navigate to the Printers & Scanners page
  3. Select and open the print queue
  4. If paused, press the resume button
Windows
  1. Open the Start menu and search for “Services”
  2. Click to open the Services application
  3. Scroll down the list to find “Print Spooler”
  4. Select “Print Spooler” then click “Restart the service” on the left
  5. If prompted to also restart “PaperCut Direct Print Monitor”, click “Yes”
  6. Wait a moment, then close the Services application

Print Deploy Client not in taskbar

If previously installed, restart the software manually:

macOS
  1. Open a Finder window
  2. Navigate to Applications > PaperCut Print Deploy Client
  3. Double-click on ‘Restart.command’
  4. Enter your password in the Terminal window when prompted, then hit Enter (NOTE: You will not see anything when typing, this is normal.)
  5. Quit Terminal once you see ‘[Process completed]’
Windows
  1. Open an Explorer window
  2. Navigate to C:\Program Files\PaperCut Print Deploy Client
  3. Double-click on ‘initialise.bat’

Printer screen displays “Could not access the accounting server. Contact your administrator.”

  1. Open the larger front panel on the copier
  2. Flip the main power switch off for 10 seconds, then flip it back on
  3. Wait for the copier to fully start-up and reconnect

Removing printers

Windows

Windows 10
  1. Start > Settings
  2. Devices Bluetooth, printers, mouse
  3. Select the printer you want to remove and click “Remove Device”
Windows 11
  1. Start > Settings
  2. Bluetooth & Devices >
  3. Printers & Scanners >
  4. Click on the printer you want to remove and click “Remove”

macOS

macOS v13.x and up
  1. Select Apple menu > System Settings
  2. In the “Search” field type “Printers”
  3. Select “Printers & Scanners”
  4. Select the printer you want to remove
  5. Select the “Remove Printer…” button
  6. Select “Done”
macOS 12.x and below
  1. Select the Apple menu > System Preferences
  2. Select “Printers & Scanners”
  3. Select the printer in the list, then select Remove (-)
